With a headline match like The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, The 2015 Hell In A Cell Pay-Per-View was bound to have some surprises. Read on to find out just what they were...
I was expecting The Undertaker to defeat Lesnar to show that he is the true master of Hell In A Cell, so it was quite a surprise to see not only the ring mat being torn up, but also Lesnar hitting 'Taker with a low blow and following it up with another F-5 to become the winner instead.
The Wyatt Family showing up afterwards and attacking him was obviously a surprise but to set up something for Survivor Series, but I thought that there would be others appearing afterwards to even up the odds instead of The Undertaker being carried away.
For the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match I was thinking of a possible win for Kane, but that regardless of what was to happen I was also thinking it would mean a cash-in, but neither of those happened, since Rollins managed to retain his title instead.
I have to be honest when I say that the Figure-Eight submission ending for the Divas Championship match between Charlotte and Nikki Bella didn't look very good, it just seemed to be the completely wrong position for it to be a believable transition.
The New Day retaining the WWE Tag Team Championship was a surprise, I thought it was pretty much a guaranteed victory for The Dudley Boyz considering what happened last time.
I thought that the challenger for the United States Championship in John Cena's United States Open Challenge would be someone from NXT, such as Finn Bálor, and that whoever it was would become the new champion given given recent reports that Cena wouldn't be on the European tour.
I certainly wasn't expecting Alberto Del Rio to show up, especially considering what happened that led to him being fired, but it seems WWE and Del Rio must have been able to come to an agreement about that. Del Rio winning with that kick was also a surprise, I expected that to be a given that Cena would kick out of it and the match would continue.
Nice to see Owens retain his Intercontinental Championship, he's definitely the one who is more interesting as the champion.
Good Six Man Tag Team match between the teams of Neville/Cesaro/Ziggler/ and the teams of Barrett/Sheamus/Rusev. Not sure what the point of Stardust and The Ascension standing with the crowd at ringside was though.
