No Respect Given, No Respect Returned

CM Punk's quest to gain the respect of the WWE locker room and, in particular, the respect of new number one contender for his WWE Championship John Cena, has seemingly become an obsession after witnessing the events of last Monday Night Raw, where he viciously and brutally dissected Jerry "The King" Lawler inside of a steel cage. Lawler has continuously refused to call CM Punk "The Best in the World" and seemingly paid the price for his beliefs as Punk took the Hall of Famer to task in the stipulation match that the WWE Universe had chosen. Now with Night of Champions looming ever closer, how much further will CM Punk go to gain his oh-so sought-after respect? And what will John Cena have to say about Punk's own lack of respect for Lawler?

Also on Raw

At the behest of the admittedly less-than-stable Raw General Manager AJ Lee, both Daniel Bryan and Kane have been ordered to undergo anger management therapy. And as last week showed on both Raw and Smackdown, the classes have been...less than effective, as both Bryan and Kane have struggled to keep their composure in the face of adversity. Will we get an update on their progress? Can the man behind the "No!" and the Big Red Monster come to grips with their rage? Or will some other poor souls have to suffer the full wrath of their fury?

These Daniel Bryan/Kane segments are phenomenal.
Daniel Bryan and Kane for tag team champions?

I freakin loved Raw this week. I think this has been the best 3 hour Raw since they have started.

Opening stuff with Punk and Lawler brawling backstage was good. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm really enjoying this Punk vs Lawler stuff.

Sheamus on the mic still needs a lot of work and it really showed tonight. Though Punk was great as always and made that back and forth very enjoyable.

Orton vs Ziggler was a very good match. these 2 have faced eachother so many times now on Raw and SD and they never disappoint. Great to see Ziggler even things up with Orton here (Well at least since this feud started)

I somewhat enjoyed Rey & Sin Cara teaming up. Maybe Rey can help Sin Cara Improve and i would like to see these 2 become a legit tag team for a good while.  The fact that albert was in the match the Show and Cody Rhodes took the pinfall was a bit of a bummer though. Hopefully this Cody vs Sin Cara feud will end soon and Rey & Sin Cara can go after the tag titles and Cody can go after a singles title...or i guess with Dibiase not injured anymore they could reunite Cody & Ted to feud with Rey & Cara.

Sheamus/ Punk Segment # 2 was also very good. better than the first. It's great to see how Punk can control  a crowed especially in Chicago.

Sheamus vs Swagger wasn't great but at least Swagger got on the show and then later in the night he said he was taking some extended time off and that he was better than this. So I'm thinking when he comes back he may get a good push which i would like to see because i like Swagger.

Divas match was shit. I have always been a fan of Kaitlyn but she may be the worst diva in the WWe right now when it comes to in ring stuff. I say keep her on TV every week but find different ways to do it. It seems this more of a set up for Eve vs Layla in the future.

Also Layla was horrible on commentary.

Seems Alberto and David Otunga are gonna align themselves which is good because Otunga needed something to do that doesn't involve him wrestling and i think this may help Del Rio win the World title from Sheamus at NOC now. I just hope Ricardo won't be out for long.

Ryback vs Jinder was alright. pretty much what you expect. WWE seems to be pretty high in Jinder but him losing to Ryback all the time doesn't really help him much.

all the Daniel Bryan and Kane stuff was just great. i love all the anger management segments and then the Hug it out segment was a Raw moment and one to be remembered. Crowed helped too with the "One more hug" chants and stuff. I was hoping this would make Kane & Bryan friends and they would become a tag team in this. i think that would be a lot better than them feuding and i think the fans wanted that too.

It's like whatever Bryan does turns to gold this year. i couldn't stand the stuff they were doing with the anger management stuff at first but now they are some of the best parts on Raw.

Santino vs Cesaro wasn't bad. I was just really hoping Cesaro would retain and he did. so I'm happy about that. i think that was his Raw Debut too. Hopefully he starts a new feud with someone like Christian now.

Slater vs Ryder was pretty good. Glad to see Ryder get another win on Raw. It's a shame the WWE has killed all of his momentum though.

AJ/Vickie segments were pretty good. I can't see Aj in charge much longer.

Del Rio vs Cena was actually a great match. way better than i expected from these 2 guys. i think the falls count anywhere stip helped it a lot too. Del Rio winning is huge too even if he did win by Punk helping him.

Punk getting in the car with Heyman was awesome. I can't wait to see where they go with this. it also makes me think Heyman could recruit more talent.

Overall great Raw IMO. I also enjoyed Miz & Cole on commentary...hell at this rate i think i would enjoy anyone on commentary over King. Cole was kind of a dick to Miz though which was kind of odd to see since Cole is supposed to be Miz's biggest fan.

People gripe on Orton but I feel he's one of the most consistent guys in the ring. Maybe it's because he doesn't really take risks (he's kind of fallen into this five moves of doom thing) but he sells well enough and is willing to let the other guy take the lead and it leads to some great matches. Maybe it's not coincidence that his most notable feuds of the last couple of years are with guys like Ziggler and Christian but I've thoroughly been enjoying him ever since he sort of took a back seat to Cena, Punk and Sheamus.

Also Layla was horrible on commentary.

I enjoyed her ragging on Miz tbh. Miz was annoying when Cole would ask him a question and he'd respond with some stupid shit like "Do I agree? Yes I do!" but when they let him go off the cuff like here he was pretty good.

The only thing that bothered me is that they didn't even bother mentioning the mini-feud they were having.

I was reading Lance Storm's twitter during RAW last night and he was on full assault mode bashing that. I couldn't believe it. There's more to wrestling than just wrestling, as weird as that sounds and this was thoroughly entertaining. I fucking loved every moment of that hug match, even the commentary was amazing. Miz explaining the rules, pointing out that they needed a ref there, it was hilarious even beyond t he fact that it made me think of Step Brothers. Seriously they could put Bryan in a segment playing duck duck goose with Santino, Hornswoggle and a monkey and it would probably be good.

The only thing I could think of here is that Cesaro had zero heat with the RAW crowd and he's a champ. The Chicago crowd is annoying though. They think they're smarks because they live in the city Punk is from, but all they do is cheer Punk, boo Cena and Sheamus and chant Yes. They were good during the Kane/DBry segment but otherwise they were kind of annoying and it showed here. Cesaro needs more exposure though.

AJ/Vickie segments were pretty good. I can't see Aj in charge much longer.

I actually felt bad for AJ tonight. Best they've handled her since she got GM IMO.

I honestly thought that the match might be good enough to be top 10 material for the year so far. Cena and Berty need to work together more often. Cena works best when there's a stip that let's him go out of the ring and get creative.

The whole night I was hoping it was Colt Cabana in the car  ;D

I loved Cole and Miz on commentary because both of them were sort of shifting between heel and face. If Miz can work on his chatter a little bit I wouldn't mind seeing him there more often, like Punk a few years ago.

I predicted Punk would team with Heyman the other week  :ace
It was obvious though as during his famous promo he said he was a Paul Heyman man just like Brock Lesnar.

I was really rooting for D-Bry and Kane to be a team. I guess it just leads to more anger management sessions. More work for Scorpio Sky!

Ok it's been awhile since I made an review about Raw here we go!

I loved Punk beating the Memphis outta Lawler, and I truely believe Lawler attacked Punk first lol.I guess King is jealous that he couldn't hang with Punk even in his prime.King kept on top in Memphis because of his microphone skills. The whole Sheamus segment I wanted to slap the shit outta the great white Sheamus like if he didn't expect to be booed.I loved how Punk almost went Ric Flair with his words meaning at one time Flair said to Tully Blanchard just before the Horsemen started,  Flair said you might be a be a great Champion but, you are carrying a silver belt instead of the gold woo..

Orton vs Ziggler was solid, thank God Ziggler won.I love Ziggler beating former World Champions and Orton is one of the best.In that match it felt to me Orton was mentally out of it.I think it he was upset having to go over to Ziggler.Stop being spoiled motherfucker you beat Ziggler on Tuesday, share the wealth lol.

Cara/Mysterio vs Tensai/Rhodes I wanted to see more high flying and I hope with time these guys put on an aerial diplay kinda like how Air Boom did until Bourne lost his damn mind! Punk coming out in Jeans just after this made me laugh.I thought is he going to wrestle in Jeans if he does, and wins Sheamus is a true bum.

Katilyn vs Eve Torres confused the shit outta me.You have Katiyln win a match to get a Title shot versus Layla and you have her lose to Eve? That tells me Eve will make this  match a triple threat and maybe Eve is playing the face gimmick to draw both ladies in, to strike at NOC who knows? Also Layla on commentary my Mother saw Layla and said I would pick that bitch up and toss her like a raggie Anne Doll lol.

Ok the anger management segment fucking love it.The person who came up with give them a raise. Now them later hugging and then fighting confused me.I thought Kane and Bryan could be one hell of a Tag Team, now them hugging and fighting tells me another match.Just imagine each other and hurt your opponents you humanoids!

Cesaro vs Santino.Boring, give Cesaro some new meat! Jinder Mahal vs Ryback, I wanted a sleeping pill watching Ryback I hate that fucker so much.Put him in a fucking legit feud already WWE! Vickie/AJ segment also confusing fuck the fighting you two..HLA!!!

Ok Main Event time Del Rio/Cena was solid enough fighting around the Arena, but we seen that before from those two.Now at the end Punk coming back didn't shock me but seeing Paul Heyman made me nearly drop my Laptop.Punk and Heyman match made in hell! Even though Punk doesn't need help to talk, Heyman will bring extra heat to this NOC match! I'm sold PUNK WINS AT NOC IT HAS TO BE.Who knows maybe Lesnar shows up and helps Cena lose he owes him one.Man seeing Heyman pop his head out gangster man.Overall the show was 7 outta 10, random segments..but I know next week will be glorious!

Like everyone else here I loved the Anger Management videos, especially when they both took away their hands just as Harold fell.  :2funny:

I was hoping for a Punk attack after he had supposedly left, and I wasn't left disappointed. I wasn't expecting Heyman, but I thought it was a very nice touch, and it should be interesting to see where they go with it and that they aren't ignoring the whole "I'm a Paul Heyman guy" part of his epic promo last year.

Going back, these Anger Management segments are so great, and i know Sheen is going to come in and ruin them.
