Smackdown Spoilers from June 26th 2012

Tonight WWE will tape this week's Smackdown episode from The Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. Here are the full results.

Dark Match

* Brodus Clay (w/Cameron, Naomi) defeated Drew McIntyre.

WWE Smackdown (Airing Friday)

* Layla defeated AJ Lee with help from Daniel Bryan. Bryan came out chanting YES and AJ was distracted, allowing Layla to get the win. Bryan called out Vickie Guerrero and demands AJ be banned from ringside during his WWE Title match against CM Punk at Money in the Bank. Vickie announces AJ will be the guest referee for the match.

* Vickie announces Money in the Bank qualifying matches for tonight and next week. The first is up next.

* Damien Sandow defeated Zack Ryder to qualify for Money in the Bank.

* Tyson Kidd defeated Jack Swagger to qualify for Money in the Bank.

* Jack Swagger got on the mic but ended up getting laid out by Jerry Lawler to a big pop from the crowd. This was likely a dark segment.

* Santino Marella and Christian defeated Cody Rhodes and David Otunga to qualify for Money in the Bank.

* Otunga got on the mic and posed for the crowd after the match. Triple H came out and hit him with a Pedigree for another dark segment. Booker T also hit Otunga and did a Spin-a-rooni for a pop.

* Backstage segment with Bryan and AJ.

* Ryback beat two local wrestlers in a squash.

* Teddy Long announces Layla and The Great Khali vs. Aksana and Antonio Cesaro for Tuesday's live SmackDown. Teddy will be the General Manager for RAW and SmackDown.

* Tensai defeated Justin Gabriel to qualify for Money in the Bank.

* Sheamus defeated Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio in the main event to retain the World Heavyweight Title. Sheamus got the win after a Brogue Kick on Ziggler.

WTF are they doing to MITB? Albert And Santino in but Cody not in? I really hope they extend this to 10 or something and get Cody, Wade, Ziggler and someone else.

Interesting MITB entrants, with Cara not in it, wished he was, for the high flyig aspect, Kidd could steal the show in a losing effort at MITB.

In disbelief that the WWE could put Santino in the match and not Rhodes. That is fucking disgusting.

What do they have against pushing their talented stars? Nobody cares about Santino, his past matches have been getting BORING chants. Literally what a HORRIBLE MITB. Sandow, Tensai, Christian, Santino, Kidd. Out of these guys Sandow will probably win as apparently Vince and Triple H are big on him. I'm just hoping Rhodes gets another chance and becomes a final entrant because otherwise this is disgusting. Ziggler, Cara could end up joining too.

Fuck Santino, perhaps he is just filler to be taken out on the night by injury and replaced by Barrett? As for Tensai fuck that and Sandow seems good and all but he is brand new and pushing people that soon NEVER works for the WWE e.g. Del Rio. Crap results. If that is the final list then I damn well hope Kidd wins.

I agree though, I like Santino and think he deserves to be on TV but when it comes to stuff like MITB matches or being US Champ for as long as he has been or being anywhere near the main event is where i have a problem with it especially when far greater talent is jobbing to him.

That was a good idea about Barret taking him out and taking his place i could see that happening and working, would set Barret up perfectly for the win and even though I'm not a big fan of Barret I think at this point if it's not going to be Cody or Ziggler he is probably the best choice. OF course i would rather see people like Kidd or  or Mcintyre or Kofi or even Evan Bourne or ideally John Morrison but those just seem unrealistic at this point.

Can't wait for next year when they have SUPER MITB!

No shit I'm going to defend Santino. Dude deserves all the success he can get. He pays his dues every night by putting a fucking sock on his arm, growing a unibrow, dressing up like his fictitious twin sister and doing all this shit for the sake of entertainment and because the higher ups ask him too. He's the best comedy gimmick possibly ever and he deserves to be on TV and have success. That said, if they're not going to have him properly defend the title and put him in competitive matches (we know he's capable of doing so), then ya they should have him drop it, but I have no problem with him occupying 1 of 8 spots in a ladder match, especially considering he has no chance of winning. Your anger is displaced. It shouldn't be on Santino it should be on creative. Santino's earned success and a spot on TV just as much as Kidd may have earned it in your eyes by being talented or Ziggler by having good matches, they just need to let him be more serious every once in a while. And it's really unfair to say that someone else might have more talent than Santino, because he's just as talented as anyone in WWE in his own way.

So fuck all of you with a rusty shovel.

I think we need to assess this when we see the results from the other qualifiers that vickie has announced for next week, but I am very sceptical with the current direction.

Watched the pre air thought it was an okay show i guess.

Kidd vs Swagger was good, glad to see Kidd get the win and not so happy to see Swagger lose. Sandow vs Ryder was alright, It amazes me how much they job Zack Ryder out even though he is the most over mid card guy on the roster. and the triple threat WHC match was good, no where near as good as Ziggler vs Sheamus last week but still very good. All the stuff with Bryan and AJ was good. the rest of the show wasn't anything special.

I don't find Santino funny and never have. He isn't even a cliche of an Italian, he is simply nothing like one. He has never made me laugh once, in fact I honestly find him one of the least funny characters in the WWE. Wiliam Regal, Goldust, Chris Jericho, Ricardo Rodriguez, Damien Sandow, Heath Slater, Kai En Tai, Kurt Angle, Stone Cold have all been way more hilarious to watch. And yes its creative's fault but it doesn't take away from the fact he executes the gimmick in a way where I feel like it insults my intelligence.
He acts like a baby and that is unfortunately what they are trying to turn Ryder into as well after the whole Eve thing.

In spite of this some people do find Santino funny so fair enough keeping him around but after being in the elimination chamber does he really need the MITB too? I mean seriously what next Undertaker vs Santino at WM for the next streak match?

Im happy that Tyson Kidd is in the MITB match but i know its clearly to get destroyed taking all the bumps.
