Strike Two for Rey Rey
« on: 26 April 2012, 08:46:34 PM »
Quote
STAMFORD, Conn. – In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Oscar Gutierrez (Rey Mysterio) for 60 days effective Thursday, April 26 for his second violation of the company's policy.

I often forget he's even in WWE anymore. You'd think with all those steroids he'd be able to stay off the IR.

Think I'll have a wank over these tomorrow.

Just release him all he does is bitch about his role and hes not even exciting anymore. There are tons of younger talent who can fill the high flyer roll 100 times better.

WWE knows Rey Mysterio brings in a high amount of hispanic viewers, but two strikes now, we don't know if it's Weed of Steriods, but steriods in Wrestling, Rey doesn't need it, he never had the best body, roids in Wrestling for him, would be having more energy and stamina than the clean Pro Wrestler. If he fucks up again, time to let him go to TNA, which he would, because if he does mess up again, and you do nothing, and let it slide under the table, then you as a Company do not care about the guys who bust their asses and stay straight edge.

He hasn't been around much the last couple of years, how much is he bringing in at this point? Now they have Berto, Camacho and Hunico, Primo and Epico, and other guys coming in, obviously they're all heels and none of them are as big as Rey's been except maybe Berto. Cut your loses and move on at this point frankly.

And obviously we don't know what it was, but the guy was getting ready to come back from a severe injury to an oft injured leg... is there really much doubt? Roids are taken to rehab quicker, I don't think Rey's dumb enough to smoke weed when it's not addictive and doesn't change anything for him.

When he wrestles he is alright, I find he's too much of a goody two shoes on the mic though. Whether the WWE decides to release him or not I wouldn't particularly care, at this moment in time he has pretty much done everything he can, I mean he's won the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships as well as the Rumble, there isn't much more he can really go for. Having said that, I wouldn't mind seeing him do a quick heel run, would be interesting to see.

Rey is injury prone at this point in his career and probably should be one of those guys with a lighter schedule.

As for his strike 2 this is both big news and not so big news. Not so big because he is injured and when his suspension is around the time he should have made a return anyways so i don't think this hurts much in terms of him coming back but the big news in this is i don't think the WWE wil ever puth the world title back on him beings if he gets another strike he's out.

Now I know i am in the minority here but i like Rey Mysterio and i think when he's healthy he is one of the best in wrestling. Yeah he's not the best high flyer anymore and his character isn't the most entertaining but he's always in good feuds and he's always going out thereand putting on good matches.

I said it a few years ago but i would only accept Rey if he reinvents himself like Jushin Liger did. He is still a high flyer but its not his main focus now.

I used to hate Rey when they pushed him to the WH title, now I don't mind him but it annoys me that he gets whatever he wants because he brings in some merch sales. The dude can't keep up and he puts himself in danger every time he's in the ring. Edge had one health scare and he retires, yet Rey gets to continue making WWE and the people he's fighting liable? It's selfish.

I think Rey is in some really good feuds e.g. Mysterio/Rhodes and I think his matches can be top tier and amazing to watch. I like his unique style. But he seems to get better treatment than other wrestlers on the roster which is wrong. I don't see him as a big loss anymore seeing as he has already had a long career.
