Think I'll have a wank over these tomorrow.
c) So just because the car was in Hogan's name, that tarnishes his legacy because his son crashed the car? If, say, Ted Dibiase Jr. got a DUI, does that tarnish Ted Dibiase Sr.'s name because he's his son and is using his name? it's easy to turn this on hulk, but the fact is Nick had his licence, the driving conditions were proven to be less than ideal, and his friend was an adult and a war veteran that was old enough to make the judgement calls of whether they should've been drinking or not and whether Nick should've been driving or not. Hulk can't follow his son around 24/7.
d) He didn't get "caught" in that conversation, it was taped, as were all his conversations with Nick in prison, as per state law. They were illegally leaked to the press, and they were snipped and modified to make it sound like Hogan is some sort of the monster.
The fact of the matter is, when you're son's in prison, and on top of that he's a minor and in solitary confinement (which is just wrong. Frankly he shouldn't be in prison at all), you tell him whatever he wants to hear. It's not time to start giving him life lessons and lectures, the dude might go off himself at night if he hears his dad berating him for a comment.
The fact is you don't know Hogan beyond what you've seen of his character on TV. You don't know Nick beyond what you've seen of him on his reality show. And you certainly don't know John Grazianno and what kind of character he had. So basically, you don't know if he was a negative person or not, and you don't even know what hogan meant by negative, because the conversation was snipped from a longer 2 hour convo.
look at this point hogan is one of the most unprofesional people in the buisness he cant look after his personal life and in the wrestling industry hes got more heat with people than anyone else1. he refuses to lose to any one who needs a puch (ntable he was supposed to lose to hbk then come back later and win another match but refused)2. he always wants to prove he is better than the buisness ( at summerslam he moned because his match was only mid card and HE wanted the main event were as flair and hbk were offerd the main event at mainia but flair said that the title is more important)so in the end hogan is an egomainiac, unprofecianal and dousnt even deserve to come back to wwe if hes gonna be this way
Thing is... he IS (or at least was) bigger than the business. Last time he came back he got the monster pop that only he could get. He's the biggest draw in wrestling history, the first guy to successfully foray into the entertainment business, etc etc. Along with the Rock (even though I hate to say it), he's one of only 2 guys that could truly say they're bigger than the business.Yes it's egotistical, but what's true is true whether you like it not. If any of us were in the position he was in, we'd do the same thing. Forget that Flair and HBK refused the main event, that was wrestlemania, the only WM who's main event didn't involve a championship match was the 1st one, and the champ was in that match. It's not the same thing. Summerslam is different and that match was deserving of the main event based on who was in it.He's looking out for #1 and for his family, and we'd all do the same thing. But regardless of that, I don't thnk that's the question being asked in this thread... it's whether what's happening now with his family has tarnished the legacy he built in WWE.
