The Walking Dead

FINALLY got around to watching this and it's fucking amazing. Kind of dull at times but an awesome show and really very original for TV. Love it, love Frank Darabont, I gave the season as a whole 9 out of 10.

Think I'll have a wank over these tomorrow.

Finally got around to watching both seasons of East Bound & Down. Fucking awesome show. I love how literally every character in that show is a delusional asshole. Absolutely no redeeming qualities for any character, haha. But you still want Kenny Powers to succeed for some warped reason. Really sad that the third season will be its last, when shit like Entourage gets to have 8 (longer) seasons, but give credit to Danny McBride, Will Ferrel and Adam McKay for ending it on a high note instead of dragging it on. Gotta think he'll make the Majors in season 3.

But ya, awesome show. Kenny Powers is my hero now.

You should totally go watch Shameless (US Version) season 1 that just ended. It's amazing!

There's a few on my list thanks to HBO on demand (FTW). Shameless, Bored to Death, Call me Fitz. Also just got done watching Episodes (decent, nothing special tbh although Matt Le Blanc is great) and Californication (weird fucking show. Very high moments, but also a lot of very low moments.)

Bored to death is also a good show, its not as hilarious as eastbound and down or anything but has its on nice vibe to it with an outstanding cast IMO.

I don't know if I mentioned it, but I finished Oz a week or 2 ago, quality TV show, would rank it alongside The Wire as my favourite TV show. It's similar to 24 in the sense of it being constant action. Whilst at times it flirts with being somewhat ludicrous, it never felt like it got to that point (which 24 did), and it remains interesting right up to the end. Chris Keller is hilarious, probably my favourite TV character with Jimmy McNulty, everything he said or done was absolutely hilarious :P.

I have every season of Oz on DVD. It's an incredible show that doesn't get enough praise as being as important to TV as it was. It was the first drama HBO ever did, and it really pushed the boundaries of drama. Even by today's standards a lot of the stuff they did in that was pushing it. Despite the abnormal amount of penises they show it's still one of my favorites.

Just started watching Mad Men. Only 3 episodes in but I'm liking it so far. I didn't really like the begining of the first episode, as it felt they wrere just being offensive for the sake of being offensive, but they make it work and it really pans out as you keep going with the show. January Jones is nice to look at but it really is painful to watch her act though. Anyway, great show and it definitely deserves the praise it gets.

Game of Thrones - Episode 3

Proving to be one of the best shows on TV. Fast paced, lots of story, interesting plot twists. Gonna be a keeper.

Tru Calling
Due to budget cutbacks, a girl loses her internship after finishing college, instead she ends up getting a job at a morgue. Nothing interesting so far you may think, but did I mention that the bodies ask for her help and she ends up reliving the day again to try to save them? A great show that had me hooked from the start and only got better and better as it progressed, so it's a huge shame that it only got six episodes into Season 2 before being cancelled as it seemed the plot still had far to go.

Burn Notice

Who doesn't love seeing gunfire and plenty of explosions, with a side of espionage? The fact that he's a burned spy doing it just makes it all the more interesting. Add in his ex-girlfriend and best friend helping him, and it makes for an explosive combination. As a side-note, The Big Show will appear in a future episode according to IMDB.

I don't know if I mentioned it in here, but I finished Deadwood as well a couple weeks ago, I liked it and thought it could be absolutely hilarious at times, but i lost contact with the story at some point which didn't do a lot for me. Oh I finished The Walking Dead, to be honest I find it cliched and predictable, I can watch it but I don't really care too much with where its going.

I purchased Firefly and South Park Season 13 the other day, been watching bits of both.

Finished the first disc of Firefly and think its pretty dang awesome, a shame it's only a season long but I've still got a lot of episodes to watch before that season is over :P. What I like so far: The charisma, the variety of different characters, the science fiction elements are fairly cool so far, the alliance which are similar to the republic in Star Wars, the reavers are a genuine threat always like seeing this, its got western elements thrown in, and i like how its based on humanity, i'm not sure if this adapts over time but i haven't seen any "aliens" yet unless the reavers count?

Season 13 of South Park is good, watched it before, it's not as good as it used to be (from about season 3 to 9 or 10), I think Parker and Stone were given a cue to tone it a little particularly noticable in the first episode of the 13th season, but i think they adapted to this in this season, i know the season or 2 before i felt like the show was slowly getting weaker but there is still a lot thrown in. Haven't seen season 14 yet though.

The series finale of The Event:

The Event Series Finale Review | Better With Popcorn

Pretty pissed it's cancelled... they screwed up the first few episodes and no one came back when they fixed it.

Firefly is amazing. I hated Serenity though, but I guess it comes down to personal preference.

I just started watching The 70's Show, all I've ever heard is good things and I'm enjoying it.

I Think South park is best to be watched when it comes out because the episodes are always about really recent stuff and things that are on peoples minds at the time rather than DVD where it's just an animated comedy.

I find it amazing how they basically put together a show a couple of days before it airs. Say what you will about that show and those guys but that's impressive in and of itself.

Yeah, to be honest, the thirteenth season is actually really good, when I first watched it I kind of felt it drifted off from how south park used to be (which it did in the eleventh and twelfth seasons), but the thirteenth season they definitely hit their stride again.

Anyway, I finished Firefly, really good TV show to be honest, funny, lots of potential which some of it is fulfilled in the first season (although it definitely would have been fantastic with another 2-3 seasons imo), action balanced well with story, good character development, lots of variety in characters, plenty of eye candy on the cast (inara, kaylee, a christina hendricks appearance here and there, even river has potential). Generally its a rounded show and its annoying that it got cancelled after one season. I watched some of the DVD extras and it seemed like so many people wanted it to return, I'm surprised another channel didn't pick up on it at the time (like Sci-Fi channel), but I guess its not worth speculating it really. I would say this is one of my favourite TV shows and in comparison to a lot of them, I could probably just go back and watch an episode out of context. I will likely buy Serenity on Blu-Ray on the cheap at some point when my money situation is a bit better then what it currently is :P.
