If what Lashley says holds true about not training since his fight with Bob Sapp then which was about a month ago then I don't blame him. Why would you walk into a fight when you haven't trained in a month against someone like Fedor? That would be stupid. :lol And with the way he's been going back and forth between wanting to wrestle again or continue MMA, he's probably telling the truth when it comes to barely training.

Now if he had been training this whole time and then says he doesn't want to do the fight, then yeah he's scared.

That's all good, but obviously there's no way to know that. And frankly, it would be incredibly surprising if he hadn't trained at all the last month... even if it wasn't full prep for a guy like Fedor... considering he wasn't sure whether he was going to be wrestling or continuing in MMA, if I were him I'd be smart enough to continue training.

Not to mention that that's a pretty big opportunity... remember what that pink haired guy did to Kimbo with an hour's notice of the fight? Obviously this isn't kimbo and lashley's much more well known, but if I were Lashley, win or lose, this is an opportunity i wouldn`t pass up, especially considering he's trying to impress Dana White.

That pink haired guy had absolutely nothing to lose in that fight except for maybe a few teeth. If Lashley is trying to impress Dana White then he better be prepared because if he went in there and gets his ass handed to him, then all Dana is going to think is that Pro Wrestling has been his priority and will be further more unimpressed. It's a big opportunity to step up with this short of a notice but it's also a pretty big risk.

If he was so gung-ho about MMA he could be training all the time. He would be working his ass off trying to obtain his goal of UFC and fighting Brock. Furthermore, does this dumbass know who Fedor Emmenlinko is? Does he understand that if he beat him he'd be biggest fighter in the world and UFC would sign him? He is a jackass and like I said on the radio show within 3 years he is back in WWE.

Agreed with this pretty much. It would be idiotic for him to accept the challenge given his little experience in MMA, his lack of preperation for the fight and the quality of opponent.

I don't really blame lashley if he doesn't think he's ready for fedor then why would he want to fight him? why would he want to get his first loss? i would only fight people that i felt i was ready for and lashley hasn't even been fighting for a year yet and to be thrown in there with one of the bst in the world and having him feel he isn't ready is just kind of stupid.

i don't think lashley is a bitch i think he's smart. work your way up and when you feel you're ready then take on the top of the class. this isn't a race.

well like i said this isn't a race he's not an old guy (as far as i know) i don't see the problem at getting a little experience before he steps up and faces the more popular fighters. if he did step up and face fedor and lost to him then people would be all like lashley sucks and he shouldn't even have tried to get in there with fedor.

the thing is i think he should go at his own pace because if he tries tries to go faster than he feels he can go then he might not have a long career in MMA. but yes build up and fight better fighters but don't jump straght to the top. nothing is wrong with a slow build.....is there?

It's pretty simple... Lashley wants in UFC, t's common knowledge. It's pretty obvious he refused to go through the ultimate fighter, because he believes he deserves a contract and to be on the same level as brock.

If that's the case, then fighting Fedor, win or lose, if he has a good showing, he gets a lot of points towards getting that contract. Lets not forget this is the guy who's supposed to wipe the floor with Brock. Lashley needs to take this fight both for his career and to show that he's business. Guys have taken much more one sided fights with much less notice in the past.

Lashely didn't take it because he knows hes not experienced enough to fight at that level AND he actually respect the people before him who DO deserve the shot at Fedor. Lashley has said that he wants to be in UFC but do it the right way and that is actually earn his contract. Which makes sense, look at the reaction Lesnar is getting. He is seriously HATED.

I feel its better for him to take it slow and go fight by fight instead of taking a fight with 10 days notice against the best heavyweight in the world. Why get your first loss? Why fight for behind or possibly get injured in the process.

Plus this possibly couldn't have been just his decision. It could have been his camps decision as a whole.

well as you know im new to this but to me it seems like losing no matter who you lose to would set you back more than winning against a lesser known fighter.

Honestly for this fight it would be a win/win for Lashley. If he puts up a good fight or wins he is a instant sensation. If he loses, so what he took a fight with the best heavyweight in the world on 10 days notice and lost. Its a after thought. Still in the long run it seems like the good idea not to take this fight. Fedor can easily show the world his weaknesses and people will zone in on them. Its like when Rampage KOed Liddell. Since than everyone knows Liddell has a glass jaw and zeros in on that.

He just fought Bob Sapp and dominated. He barely got touched or much less broke a sweat... He is in top condition for Fedor. Sure he would need to study tape and all that stuff to see his tendencies but I think he could put up a decent fight and take him the distance for a decision. This is a win/win fight for him if he took it... Even if he lost he got his feet wet against the top fighter in the world and if he continued to show in other fights he was good he could always get a rematch with Fedor down the road in UFC (if Fedor signs.) that could sell. Much like Rampage and Liddell. I just think Lashley is making a bad move..
