Finally got around to seeing Captain America.
I didn't like it that much to be honest. the first part of the movie i thought was much better than the 2nd. It seemed shit just went crazy in the 2nd half of it and and i couldn't really connect with anything.

Marvel pre avengers movie rankings for me.

Incredible Hulk (with Edward Norton)
Iron Man 1
Thor
Iron Man 2
CPT America

We Bought a Zoo.
Really really good movie. just one of those that make you feel great. Matt Damon is awesome. i usually like Scarlet Johanson but i didn't like her in here i feel like they could have casted someone better for the part she played.

The Muppets Movie.
I was a big fan of all the other Muppets movies growing up and i thought this one was pretty good. but im not sure if someone who hasn't watched the muppets woudl like it that much and im not sure if adults would like it that much...hell im not even sure if kids would really like it.

Rock II
A few years ago i watched Rocky 1 on AMC on my TV and i loved it. i just never really gotten around to watching the rest of the rocky movies. Well last night i saw they were on Netflix so i watched Rocky II and DAMN that's a good movie. it's even better than i remember the first one being. Now i got to watch the rest glad netflix has them.

By all accounts it was hugely popular among kids. I loved it personally.

Nevermind it's $10 each movie :P. Definitely worth it for the first and second one though.

Yeah that's a really good deal. There is also the same deal on the Robocop Blu Rays if anyone likes those films.

Rocky III, IV and V

I liked them all but after Rocky II they seemed to lose something, probably the whole street feel to it. all are great movies though and Rocky V goes back to that street feel too so i think i liked it the best of those 3. The only one i didn't watch was Rocky Balboa which i saw a couple of years ago, don't recall much about it but i recall liking it.

If i had to rank the first 5 i would go.
Rocky II
Rocky
Rocky V
Rocky III
Rocky IV

All are great and so perfectly casted and acted especially the first 2 and i recommend them if you haven't seen them.

21 Jump Street

This was fantastic, Best comedy i have seen since Our Idiot brother and horrible bosses. I normally don't like Channing tatum but i think he's great in this, Maybe he should do more comedies? anyways i think when it comes to comedies this year this one will be hard to top.

Tucker & Dale vs Evil.

I'm in between Greiman and JD on this. This movie was no where near great, It wasn't even that good in all honesty but the more i watched the more i got into it and the more i laughed. it's just a crazy movie not to be taken seriously at all. I didn't go into this thinking it was a horror movie and it's really not in any way. it reminded me more of just some goofy TV show more than anything or that old comedy horrorish movie Club dread for 2004. Anyways i wouldn't recommend seeing it but if you do see it i don't think you will have a bad time. Also im happy with any success it gets just because im a Tyler Labine fan and it seems everytime he's on a show it gets cancelled.

Snow White: Pretty good, loved the set pieces and action, CGI was great, but jesus christ almighty was everyone overacting. Charlize Theron bellowed every second line to show us how crazy she was, and Kristen Stewart is the queen of overacting. Not to mention Thor over there with his shakespearean-auzzie accent trying to recreate Harrison Ford one-liners. Good movie, but could have been better casted.

7 out of 10.

Everything you say just reminds me of how much a pervert chappers is because of your sig.

Sphere- Nineties sci-fi horror starring Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Stone, Samuel L. Jackson and Liev Schreiber. Brilliant cast and the characters were entertaining. This film has been bashed to hell but I think it is like Waterworld where it doesn't deserve anywhere near the amount of negativity it gets. If you haven't seen this it would make for an entertaining Friday night film and it gives you something to think about. 7/10

The Mothman Prophecies (Rewatch)- I have seen this film like three times before and watched it for a fourth and still think it holds up as an interesting thriller. It doesn't seem to have a high budget but there are some creepy moments and I actually think Richard Gere is really good in it and feel sorry for his character. 8/10

Like i said in another thread i watches Goodfellas and The Usual Suspects. Really Liked Goodfellas but The Usual Suspects i didn't really like but i thought the ending of it was good.

I Watched Real Steel last night and didn't like it much at all. It just seemed really corny and reminded me of something like a non wrestling fan making a wrestling type movie or something like that. I guessits more for little kids but i heard it was good for adults too and that just wasn't the case.

Wanderlsut.
This was pretty good, Not extremely funny but it seems they aren't that many good comedies out there these days and i thought this on was a good one.

Jeff, Who lives at home.
LOVED LOVED LOVED this movie. its funny and heart felt and has great actors and just an overall great story. this is probably my favorite movies since "Our Idiot Brother"

Prometheus:
Phil and Prax Review Prometheus | Better With Popcorn

I thought it was a very well done movie, very entertaining and that's going in without an Alien bias, but the writing was atrocious at some points and the twists made no sense. I feel like everything was left open ended on purpose, but it was too much. Not enough to ruin it though, so 8 out of 10.

Madagascar 3.
Review: Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted | Better With Popcorn

Best of the series as far as I'm concerned, not the best animated movie but still a lot of fun, but definitely one of the more "kiddier" ones. Still, Bryan Cranston as a grumpy Russian tiger = win. 7.5 out of 10.

Yeah I don't like The Usual Suspects, think it dragged a lot and while the ending was good it wasn't quite the incredible ending people would have you believe. I swear anything with a twist these days is treated like gold.

I think one thing that annoyed me about it was the casting. i have no problems with the actors but i don't think anyone besides Kevin Spacey fits in the roles they were put in.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter: It's Terrible.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Review | Better With Popcorn
3.5 out of 10.

That's My Boy: It's terrible.
That's My Boy Review: Adam Sandler Spits In Our Faces Once Again | Better With Popcorn
I gave it a 0.5 a little facetiously but it's more like a 5.

I saw Seeking a Friend for the End of the World too. Here's the review although I didn't write it. I pretty much agree with all of it although I probably would've given it like a 7:

Also saw Moonrise Kingdom last night, by far my favorite movie of the year so far. No score yet, I'll post the review when I write it.

That Abraham Lincoln film looks awful, not surprised by the score, just the idea of fusing someone with a well known name and then putting vampire/zombie/werewolf or whatever is just lame enough to put me off. I know its based off a book and its retelling the story of Abraham Lincoln, it just has that Resident Evil/Blade depressing goth look to it. It will probably do well in America but overseas I can't see it happening.

I've heard a lot of good things about Moonrise Kingdom but its not showing anywhere round where I live which is gash as I wouldn't mind seeing it.

Anyway I watched The Fly recently. Even though it has its flaws and parts of it are a bit sickly, its a brilliant film and one I would thoroughly recommend.  Brilliant dramatic narrative and I enjoyed the character development that felt reminiscent to Sideways. Considering I saw it about a week ago I'm still thinking of it, that's a sign of a good film imo.

Abe Lincoln didn't do well. Those movies actually do better overseas, especially when they're in 3D. The idea is actually pretty good, it's the execution that's terrible. Seth Grahame-Smith is just a terrible writer and needs to stop being obsessed with vampires.

Oh right I'm surprised by that to a degree, although I guess part of the problem is down to the Americans viewing it as shitting on their historical figure.

I watched Prometheus a couple hours ago and felt it was pretty good. I'm surprised at the amount of criticism I am seeing on the internet and how much people seem to dislike it, literally went on imdb forums to just write some views and everyone is completely disregarding it. I'll admit it isn't as good as Alien, but I avoided going in with the mentality of comparing the two. I felt that was Ridley Scotts intention given the title and the themes behind the film, even if there is an obvious link. I just think that Alien was about 30 odd years ago now and it had its ideas at that time, this isn't from the late 70s early 80s much like the comparison of star wars and indiana jones with their new and old films - comparing the two periods whilst understandable will just leave with disappointment.

I felt the film had a purpose, its a speculative film based on the popular debate on why we are here, how that happened etc. The psychological horror on offer was mostly effective, perhaps disappointing for those that preferred the tension Alien offered but I think it can be equally effective. I didn't feel for the characters as much as I'd like, but I think that was down to the script more then the actors although I generally didn't like the cocky guy and his nerdy mate, something about the two that didn't really work and their characters were flawed anyway. Having said that though, Fassbender and Idris Elba pulled out good performances and I liked Noomi Rapace/Shaw come the end. Overall I would say its a good film, it will deliver the goods if you go in with an open mind. I would definitely say its worth about 7.5 - 8/10.

Spoiler:
As for the ending, people are calling for a sequel - maybe that will happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. Shaw was looking for the answers to life, answers she thought would be found on the setting for this film and didn't get, the metaphor for that is pretty obvious with real life, I'd rather they just left it on that, but I'm not against a sequel.

EDIT: Realised the sequels been announced ha

A Bag of Hammers.

Total surprise and i loved it. at first seemed like a lesser version of workaholics but as it went along it changed and developed into the movie that it is which is a really touching movie that hit a home run with me.
