1. Contagion- Interesting and hell of a lot more realistic than most films of this calibre but not something I would return to or watch for enjoyment.

2. Batman- Mask of the Phantasm- Excellent Batman animated cartoon

3. Dark City- FUCKING loved this film

The Avengers- Good film but worth the hype? Not really but Scarlett Johanssen is eye candy, Downey Jr is on form as always and Ruffalo makes for a decent Hulk.

Well it's breaking box office records all over the place overseas and it's getting rave reviews so I'll continue to buy into the hype until I see it (midnight screening on Thursday!), The Rotten Tomatoes blurb actually reads "The Avengers lives up to its hype" lmao.

Saw 2 movies this weekend. The Raven and The Five-Year Engagement. I'll post full reviews over the week but in a word, one movie was good, the other was comically bad. Guess which one is which :P

Think I'll have a wank over these tomorrow.

I thought they handled the Avengers pretty well, it delivered but didn't do anything groundbreaking, overall I'd give it a seven, its a solid film that will have you leaving the cinema in a good mood. Marks for delivering the kick of action that you probably expected out of it, character interaction is really good (to be expected with Joss Whedon at the helm), Thor is the biggest joke of an actor going, Scarlett Johansson was stunning in this film and will leave you gagging for a wank when you get home, overall I felt all the main character delivered. Film also offers a good balance of serious storytelling and jokes to mix things up. Having said that, it doesn't hold much of a lasting thought, I mean I can't really remember much of it now or a really a couple days ago, and I thought the enemies sucked utter balls, literally they were just fodder there to show off the different abilities the characters had. Overall I would say its definitely one of the better comic book films to have come out, probably as good as Iron Man 1 and Incredible Hulk, which I rate pretty highly for all the comic book films I have seen, I think if you are into comic book films you'll probably enjoy it.

The Raven - 3 out of 10. The score probably speaks for itself but this film was an absolute joke. That's what happens when you get hack writers to write your film and you can't anyone outside of John Cusack to star in it (Cusack was the only good thing about the movie, his Poe was pretty good)

Tucker & Dale vs EVIL..... 8.5 outta 10 based solely on the fact the plot was so original and perfectly played out.  One of the funniest "horror" movies I've seen in quite some time.

The Avengers - 9 out of 10

The Avengers Shatters Box Office Records in Opening Weekend | Better With Popcorn

Really awesome, pure action and fun. It's not an Oscar winner by any means but for the type of movie is and based on that potential, it's one of the best pure popcorn flicks I've ever seen. Joss Whedon is amazing.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil.

Plays up on cliches well but honestly a load of shit and soppy too. Would have liked more Alan Tudyk who was pretty much a background character as the film focuses on an unlikely love development between a fat guy and a blonde girl with a nice ass but who I ultimately couldn't give a fuck about.

Yeah I had heard good things, its probably liked because of the spin it puts on horror films which I actually liked, the idea was great. Unfortunately it managed to fail by being moronically shitty.

Purchased the Alien Anthology on Blu-Ray for £10 today, thought that was a proper bargain, will get around to watching them at some point over the next few days!

I am of the opinion that the first one is the best by miles.

Your Highness- A ridiculously stupid film, not as good as Pineapple Express but at least it was funny unlike Tucker/Dale. The bit with the perverted wizard was both hilarious and terrifying.

Here in Canada we have a similar deal and it comes with a $10 coupon for the movie. Think I might pick it up

Its well worth it, I would only go against it if you are interested in all the added features which can be purchased with the slightly more expensive option, even then I think you get a few things added with this purchase. I've only seen the first one in the set but felt they did an amazing job upgrading it to blu-ray, hardly looks dated tbh, 4 Blu-Rays for £10 is impossible to find most of the time, that alone sells it.

Nevermind it's $10 each movie :P. Definitely worth it for the first and second one though.
