The Resident
Hilary Swank continuing the trend of picking awful films to star in. Everyone in this move was far to good for this move. Hilary Swank is one of my all time favourites and she is really good but their Nothing original or exciting about the story at all.

Saw Captain America and I loved it. A little better than Thor but not as good as X-Men. Gonna post a full review likely tomorrow.

My top movies this year (in order, so far):

1. Rango
2. X-Men First Class
3. Bridesmaids
4. Horrible Bosses
5. Captain America
6. Super 8
7. Thor
8. Hangover 2

Think I'll have a wank over these tomorrow.

Friends with Benefits
Friends With Benefits: A Lesson in How to be Pretentious | Better With Popcorn

Terrible, pretentious movie that tries to act like it's not a romantic comedy when it's really just as bad as all the rest.

Horrible Bosses
In this movie Jennifer Aniston is at her best and it was so nice not to see her play something different, because she is a good actress but since Friends finished she has been very lazy in her movies.  Thought Jennifer Aniston’s character is good, is she sexy? She is a very attractive women and being a brunette agrees with her but I was finding it hard to find her sexy.

Good Movie, the story is pretty bizarre but the film provides allot of lol's thought.

Mr Popper's Penguins
I thought the film was enjoyable and a nice little family film. There were a few good laughs provide. The only thing I found odd about this film is that is felt like it should have been a Christmas release film, cause I started to get in the Christmas spirit half way through.

Cowboys & Aliens
Cowboys & Aliens Review | Better With Popcorn

Decent film, good action, but Favreau holds it back from being anything amazing because, frankly, he's a shitty director.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Rise of the Planet of the Apes Review | Better With Popcorn

Biggest and best surprise of the year so far. The human characters are a little thin, but Andy Serkis does such an incredible job as the chimp Caesar, and the story is so good that it makes up for any of its fault. So far my movie of the year, and if you're on the fence about this, go see it, it's nothing like how it's been advertised.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

I honestly figured this movie would make my top 5 for the summer thus far even before I saw it.  I was right as only X-Men failed to trail it to this point.  I loved the CGI work and motion work by Gollum... err... Andy Serkis, the guy is pure gold.  This was the prefect setup to a potentially great series of movies in the future but for some reason the ending just rubbed me the wrong way.  It just seemed like a hellava lot of trouble to get to a forest to live their lives but whatever, I know it's just a small step towards their eventually takeover of the planet thanks to the virus that will surely end up thinning out the human population.

I'd have to say my favorite part of the movie was the part where Caesar is fighting with Dodge.  The whole theatre went silent once Caesar voiced his opinion, so to speak.  I got chills there...

The ending holds it back from being a perfect movie. They had set it up so well that they couldn't really keep topping themselves. We know what happens next, the Apes take over the world, but they weren't going to do it in a couple of days and it wouldn't have done Caesar justice if it went on longer than the time period it did. So they probably did the best they could with what they have. I can't wait to see if they can match this in a sequel.

I was honestly hoping for some sort of peak at them planning some sort of takeover or whatever,  Maybe them finding a helmet in the woods, or a gun or something that a random hunter/marshal left behind.  The idea I brought up to my friends in attendance was maybe a lumber company taking over (fictionally of course) and making plans to level the park.

The Smurfs
Not long got back from seeing this at the cinema. I actually really enjoyed it, the storyline is nothing that we haven’t seen before and the jokes are very childish but it did make me feel really nostalgic. I was also very surprised at how well Katy Perry did with the voice of Smurfette.

The character Gargamel and his cat stole the movie.

Rise of the planet of the apes- Huge fan of the 1964 original (didn't bother with the Burton crap) and had to say I enjoyed this. I see it as a seperate movie to the original and would find it hard to tie the two storylines together just as it didn't have the feel of the original (you don't really want to know how the takeover happened which is what made the original so powerful but as a seperate movie this works, and it basically is using the name of the series to gain money) but for what it was it was a decent film setting up a sequel (which hopefully will deliver.)
They got that slimy faced brat from Harry Potter to play a really irritating villain who you just want to punch.
The story was good and original. Pretty much the best film I have seen this year (although that doesn't say much can't say any films have tempted me this year.)

2011 in film
- Rise of the planet of the apes- 8/10
- Just Go With It- 8/10
- Unknown- 7.5/10
- Rango - 7.5/10
- Rio- 7/10
- The Green Hornet- 7/10
- Sanctum- 6/10
- The Mechanic- 6/10
- The Chaperone- 2/10

No offence but could the fact your gay have something to do with that?

No, because I genuinely believe that there are straight people out there that feel the same. Jennifer Anniston has this attractive cute girl next door look; she doesn’t have this sexual energy about her. In Horrible Bosses the character she played worked because we were not suppose to take her seriously. But if Jennifer Anniston was in a drama and she had to play a sexual character it wouldn’t work because she just doesn’t have that look about her.

Let’s take a look at Mila Kunis she has this natural sexy look and she can produce this energy in her movies. In Black Swan Mila Kunis played Lily who was a sexy character but would this role work as well if Jennifer Anniston was playing Lily.
