I don't think the film is for everyone but I found the fact Scott is a bit of a dick to girls interesting as it made him more three dimensional and he was a good guy at heart and he was meant to be quite nasty because he needed the learning curve. I think it is Wright's weakest film and wouldn't rate it a ten out of ten like so many people but I'd give it a solid 8.Night and the City- classic film noir, decent stuff
Think I'll have a wank over these tomorrow.
didn't stick to any of the source material other than the fact that Sinestro looked exactly right pretty much
action scenes were littered with CGI
a bunch of acting talent was completely wasted.
Not a lot of deep comic book movies are going to be able to stick to everything they need to in less than 2 hours. That was one of the things I hated about some of the comic book movie intros, they try to explain the whole mythology of the series in like 5 minutes.... But I understand the beef regardless because non-fans of Green Lantern aren't gonna understand much apart from what is narrated to them. Much like Thor's background.
Expecting something else or did you mean to word it more like this?: actions scenes were littered with sub-par CGI. I pretty much said that with the special effects being a joke. Which I don't understand why they failed so hard on most of that considering their budget.
Ryan Reynolds is a big one here. He was made for the role of Deadpool.... not really a top choice for Green Lantern.
Blake Lively.... wait who? She really hasn't made a name for herself but I guess she did fine even though that role could have went to just about anyone.
Peter Saarsgard was a great Dr. Hammond, but like I said I was pissed when they killed him off.
Mark Strong did well enough to play Sinestro. Not many other would look the part so well.
None of the other Green Lantern Corps got enough screen time to be appreciated apart from Geoffrey Rush as Tomar-Re. I was a bit annoyed by this too because I loved the entire idea of the GLC and I felt they dropped the ball on how they handled them.
Tim Robbins is a great actor but his character was meh for the most part.
Otherwise it wasn't really that stellar of a cast to begin with, at least I didn't have high hopes for them. I was probably generous with my rating but I rate my movies WAY different than my games back from when we did our own reviews of video games on Gaming Mayhem.
