Hulu is the biggest joke of a service ever. It's a glorified youtube clone with agreements with stations. People are pissed about Netflix raising prices and I sort of understand even if I don't agree with people complaining, but Hulu always sucked.
As for Netflix, the problem is that studios are asking them for a lot more money now. Netflix got agreements with major studios early to stream and offer their stuff, so they got cheap deals since not a lot of people used it when it first started out. Now that everyone has it, obviously the studios want to cash out, so if Netflix wants to continue offering things they have to charge more. There's ANOTHER problem as well because now EVERYONE is trying to clone what Netflix has done. Facebook, itunes, studios themselves are all setting up their own services, and if you're going to have your own service, you don't want to compete with yourself, so you pull out of Netflix (like EA pulling out of Steam). So Netflix is kind of getting a raw deal from a lot of ends right now. But I still like it and its well worth 8 bucks a month considering that's barely even 2 movie rentals at a video store or even iTunes or PSN.
