No one's probably going to care about this but I thought it was the funniest thing ever. Sean Avery's basically the bad boy of the NHL, he's gotten into an assload of controversy, war of words, etc etc... last night it came to ahead, no pun intended, when he said this in the locker room before a game in Calgary:
The league and his teammates made a big deal out of it and he's been suspended indefinitely pending a hearing. The comment was directed towards Calgary player Dion Phaneuf, who's dating Avery's ex, Elisha Cuthbert (and alluding to a player in LA who's engaged to another ex, Rachel Hunter)
I find it completely crazy that he got suspended for that... I've said worse things to my mother's face. people in the NHL need to grow some balls. This guy was selling a game all by himself and giving it buzz, and they suspend him for a basically harmless comment. Yes you could argue it could lead to something bad on the ice, and injury, headhunting, whatever... but the NHL really dropped the ball on this for something that was actually funny.
