Last WC's, Wade and Lebron just caused havoc. I just don't see Argentina being able to guard all the perimeter players the US will throw out there. Just have to watch the glass as guys like Scola and Nocioni will scramble for loose balls: keep the rebounding close and this game will be a blowout. It's will be interesting to see who the US throws out there against Ginobili. I'd really try to wear him out by throwing either Kobe or Lebron on him on defense every possession

So Franchise, how bout that USA men's basketball team?

They lived up to their status then. The most predictable gold winning outcome of the olympics. Congratulations though to them for winning. It's an achievement just not a surprise at all.

Predictable? Get the **** outta here with that! I mean they lost 3 games in 04 and only got a bronze. Then in 06 they didn't even medal in the FIBA World Championships! SO how was the gold predictable? Tell me please, I would really like to be enlightend.....

Because they had the best team as always. It doesn't matter if they lost previously because if they still have the best team then they are the favourites and it's predictable. Anyone who says they have the best team expects them to win and when they do it's predictable. I mean you wouldn't say USA has the best team but then think Argentina will win it.

I dont think I can put it any simpler than that.

yeah what fran said.

i think whats trying to be said here is that the USA sent to best players in the world who play in the best league in the world agains thebest oponents so they would generaly be a better team then all of the rest so they should be able to win the gold easily as the other teams arnt as good

Did they assemble the best team this year? Yes... Did they have the best coach? Yes....

Then yes it was very predictable then.
