Title: Smackdown Spoilers for 2011/10/07
Post by: RyPrax on 5 October 2011, 06:12:37 AM
Quote
*Smackdown opens with a backstage segment featuring Teddy Long and Zack Ryder discussing the Raw walk-out. Long says Raw's loss will be Smackdown's gain.

*In the ring are Christian, Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Cody Rhodes and Vickie Guerrero. They say that unless HHH steps down as COO, they will be boycotting live events as its not a safe working environment.

*WWE champ Alberto Del Rio comes out and says that the Smackdown stars won't return to Raw as long as HHH is COO. He's here to show Smackdown what Raw will be missing this Monday. Teddy Long comes out and announces Sheamus & Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes & Christian as tonight's main event, but says that since Del Rio wants to be in action tonight, he will face Sin Cara.

*WWE champion Alberto Del Rio defeated Sin Cara. After the match, Black Cara attacked Blue Cara.

*Backstage, Matt Striker interviewed WWE Tag Team champions Air Boom, asking them why they walked out on Raw. They said it was a culmination of many things but until HHH steps down, the fans won't see Air Boom anywhere but Smackdown.

*Jack Swagger and WWE United States champion Dolph Ziggler defeated WWE Tag Team champions Air Boom in a non title match. The champions were attacked as they made their entrance and were on the defensive for most of the match.

*WWE Divas champion Beth Phoenix defeated Alicia Fox in 30 seconds. After the match, Fox was trapped in Beth's submission while Natalya screamed at her on the mic to cry and scream.

*Big Show makes his return and cuts a promo about finally returning after being hurt for several months. World champion Mark Henry came out and cut a promo saying he'll deal with Show in time, but Show hasn't done a thing to deserve a title shot.

*Matt Striker interviewed Randy Orton, asking him why he wasn't out there for the HHH vote of confidence on Monday. Orton says if he has a problem with HHH, he'll deal with him personally. He says he doesn't play well with others and doesn't like a group mentality.

*Big Show returns to the ring and says that he wants Mark Henry tonight and wants Henry's answer by tonight. It looks like they are adding something to the previous segment or perhaps re-filming it.

*Ezekiel Jackson pinned Jinder Mahal.

*Backstage, Johnny Ace shows up in Teddy Long's office and says Teddy can count on him if he needs anything.

*There is a segment where Hornswoggle and Booker T do Spinaroonies, but that's likely going to be a segment for the live house only.

*Randy Orton & Sheamus defeated WWE Intercontinental champion Cody Rhodes & Christian after Orton nailed Cody with the RKO

So the walkout storyline officially makes no sense anymore.

Triple H is the COO of the WWE, but that doesn't include Smackdown? He's on SD every week but suddenly he's not, and all the Superstars are safe on SD but not RAW? WTF is this shit?

This is retarded. Triple H is COO whereas Long is the GM.
It doesn't make sense for Air Boom to be pissed at Triple H either considering he fired Miz and Truth who keep attacking them. This storyline is a shambles.

Also filming the Big Show segment twice? That is like when they had Cara fight Slater twice recently. It is stupid and retarded, if you screw it up first time then don't re-film it.

Yeah pretty much agree that makes no sense at all.  and the show doesn't really look that good either from the looks of the spoilers.

Also read the NXT Results and apparently Daniel Bryan can win on that show but just can't win on any other show or any other taped match which just ruins the losing streak angle which was there only way of having him lose all the time make any sense at all.

Might as well go film at the Impact zone because only those fans will like this crap.

To be fair the guy who posted the spoilers missed the last segment, which is even more retarded than this storyline, so I think they did something with them at the end (although may have been after the camera stopped).

But ya, makes no sense. Air Boom wins the titles after Triple H comes in and gets shitloads of airtime, but he sucks bro.

It's mind boggling how little sense this storyline makes.

The booking of the divas is shockingly bad, I wish we had some consistency. If Beth squashes Alicia Fox, she can't then get beat down by Kelly Kelly on Monday  :tickedoff:

I thought this show was better than I expected. The booking of the "walk out" is retarded as I've mentioned, but a lot of guys got some mic time at the beginning so that's good.

Air Boom's excuse for leaving is ridiculous, and I hope that what happened to them at the beginning of their match leads to them going back to RAW. Their tag match was good and I like how every week they seem like more and more of a real team.

Sin Cara actually had a good match against Del Rio. No surprise since they've worked together before WWE (and in WWE I think? Although Josh said it was the "first time ever"? Why do I remember them wrestling before?) and because Del Rio can actually communicate with him. And I don't mind Black Sin Cara but the mere thought of continuing this feud bores me.

Main event tag match was good too. Looking forward to Orton feuding with Cody hopefully. I know the IC title might be involved but why it is that Orton can do non-title feuds but not Cena?

I think I might be in the minority here but I actually enjoyed the Henry/Show stuff. Show's promo was a little too long but it was pretty good, and I LOVE that they're putting Henry up against someone who can look more dominant than him. Champions benefit from being able to overcome hurdles and it will be a nice change of pace from destroying everyone for months now. That said, I hope this is a one time match because the match itself is going to be boring as fuck if it's just a one on one match. Regardless of the cool stuff they've doneint he past.

Overall a pretty good SD considering how mad I was after reading the spoilers. Still annoyed with the walkout stuff but they strung together a pretty good show, considering it was painfully obvious that they didn't know what they were going to do less than 24 hours before they taped.

I enjoyed it too. In a way it makes sense for Henry to feud with a fellow big man. The story of Henry's career thus far is being the big man who could never win the title, he wasn't as feared as Kane or as dominant as The Big Show and now that he is on a role it makes sense for him to be put against Show. I saw an interview with a very emotional Henry discussing that the reason he had never won the title was because he had spent so much of his career overweight but that he had lost the weight and felt better than he had in years. Later that year Henry won his first world title whereas Show never had the struggle Henry did which makes Henry more hungry.
I love your comment Prax about a match between them being boring as fuck though ;D

But I say Henry should come out of this one with the title still to show that not only can he injure Show but he can stop an angry Show too. Then I think Sheamus should be the guy to finally take the title off Henry. At this point I wouldn't even mind seeing Henry win it back. I mean they have built him so much recently that they might as well make the final years of Henry be as a main eventer and I like the way Henry recognised his weakness (that he had been overweight and regretted not making more of an effort) and rather than moan about a lack of being pushed he was proactive and lost the weight. And look what it got him, a world heavyweight championship reign so he is a winner for that.

It's true, the match is going to be shit lol. Still, they've managed to put together a huge spot every time they're in the ring together so I hope we can get that at least. Remember when I was the only one who believed in Henry and he through Big Show through the cage, and everyone started to turn to him? :)

No because Leonardo Lunchbox has always liked him too.

I didn't enjoy SD this week. the whole walk out stuff just doesn't make any sense to me and i can't get into it.

Jinder vs Jackson seemed pointless why couldn't that be bryan who beat up Jinder? i don't see them going anywhere with jackson he had his shot and was awful.

Booker and hornswoggle thing was really random.

I found the first big show part to drag on for too long and was hard to watch. his emotion just seemed forced to me. i liked the 2nd segment but i really don't think it needed 2 segments. I'm hoping big show wins his last world title at the PPV. Kane,Christian and Henry have all had their curtsey runs as champion so big show for a few weeks wouldn't bother me either.

Air boom vs Ziggler & Swagger was the only part that i somewhat enjoyed.

I didn't pay attention to del rio vs sin cara or the main event. i just didn't have any interest in either of them.

Cody Rhodes had monsterous heat in the opening segment. when they gave the mic to him he almost got as many boo's as vickie.

Yeah but to be fair I liked him when he lost the weight and started to improve on the mic. I stand by the fact I thought he was crap before this huge push of his.
