Actually Sin Cara/Mysterio would be the more perfect team to perform against Team Friendship and it puts butts in the seats.

It's about money man, WWE is not going to make money with the Scholars as champs especially since their team just started.I love Sandow as singles star, but not as a team teamer.Cody is in there due to WWE not having anything for him to do.Cara/Mysterio winning the titles, after Bryan and Kane lose their damn minds, WWE would love that to sell Masks like crazy lol.

I think the tag situation will play out like this.

PTP will cost Rey & Cara the finals so Sandow & Rhodes will win it but end up losing to to friendship. Rey & Cara will beat PTP at HIAC and then go on to beat friendship in november.

By that logic, Cena should have held the title for about 10 years straight.

Cara hasn't got any fan support and Mysterio isn't getting as much of a reaction as Kane/Bryan, if Cara/Mysterio face those two they would get booed, if they win against Kane/Bryan they would be hated and wouldn't get over for months.

As for Cara/Mysterio winning the titles to boost sales, I think that's kind of bullshit to be honest, those things will sell to kids whether they win or not.

I'm not going to say that Cara/Mysterio will not win the titles, I just think they should win it further down the road. Right now, Sandow/Rhodes makes more sense, those two won't be a tag team for long, they are heels and they currently have better chemistry then Cara/Mysterio. Whether they win or not is another matter though, its pretty obvious they will do a Team Yes vs Team No for Survivor Series next month, would make sense to have the tag champions as the captains for that PPV.

I don't know where you've been for the last ten years, but Cena pretty much has held the title for that long lol. They're just keeping it off him now to freshen things up.

Kane/Bryan are hot right now but that doesn't mean Cara/Mysterio aren't. Just because you hate Cara doesn't mean he's not popular and Rey's always popular. I don't think they would be hated if they beat a team that's slightly hotter than them right now, Friendship can't hold the titles forever and if they're serious about rebuilding the tag division they're going to have to move the titles around a little bit.

They'd sell more if they were champions. Champions are featured more prominently on the show often times, guaranteed spots on many pay-per-views, featured more prominently on WWE.com, especially when they're bigger stars like Mysterio/Cara. Are you meaning to tell me CM Punk's merch sales haven't gone up in the last year?

I'm not disputing any of this. I like the idea of team yes vs. team no lol

I never said they shouldn't win the titles, I made it clear that I think they could further down the road (as much as the thought of Sin Cara winning a title sends a terrible shiver down my spine), but right now it doesn't make sense. Rhodes and Sandow attacked Kane and D-Bryan, face vs heel feuds are better and they aren't as popular as Kane and D-Bryan; wouldn't make sense to pass the torch to a lesser more generic team right now. Unless Kane or D-Bryan are injured, I don't see why they would give Cara/Mysterio the titles, even if they win the tournament.

As for the merchandise sales, look at Zack Ryder, he probably appears on Superstars at best most of the time, never wins a match, yet he's one of the biggest merchandise sellers. And if we are going to talk about merchandise, would surely make sense to keep kane and d-bryan going on longer if they want those shirts to sell; rather then Mysterio and Cara, who already sell to kids.

Whether we want to talk about merchandise or the business or whatever (personally I couldn't care about merchandise sales), I'm more entertained by Kane/D-Bryan and Rhodes/Sandow then Mysterio/Cara. Also don't know why you are defending Rey/Cara, you've slated Rey for years on here, and gave up on Sin Cara lol

I feel like they feed Ryder 1-2 high profile matches every few months just to keep him relevant. Look at his Battle Royale streak he has going and that weird 2-3 match win streak he was on a little while ago. They still need to keep him relevant to keep those merch sales. they can't just have Cara and Mysterio stand at the top of the stage and wave and expect their sales to stay up. Even Ryder had a US title run and he'd probably need one more soon to push more merch but WWE hates him. I mean if you're looking at the correlation between merch sales and championships the evidence is there. Who are the top sellers? Punk and Cena, they always have titles. Orton's up there too and he's like Cena, they're keeping the title off him to keep things fresh. Sheamus is probably up there, Team Friendship had 2 shirts out the moment they won the titles.Triple H had a t-shirt a week while he was dominating.

I don't know why we're arguing tho because I agree that they shouldn't win the titles for a month or two lol. Just think that you shouldn't brush off merch sales as it's an important part of how they do business. And I'm not defending them, they're just facts.
